KFI delivered the full façade package for the PwC Centre, a five-level commercial building in central Christchurch. Working alongside Armitage Williams, Warren & Mahoney, and Mott MacDonald, KFI was responsible for the design, procurement, manufacture, and installation of the façade systems.
The building features KFI’s 200mm unitised curtain wall system, incorporating alternating glazed vision panels and GRC panels. A bespoke ceramic frit within the glazing aligns with the GRC panel pattern, creating a visually seamless exterior. The façade also includes hinged and large-format stacking doors to accommodate multiple deck areas throughout the building.
The south elevation is clad in a wrapped RAB board with a 3mm aluminium panel rainscreen system mounted on a hook-and-pin assembly. Additional systems include KFI’s 50mm strip window and commercial door suites, along with frameless glass balustrades. Recognised for its architectural and construction excellence, the PwC Centre won the 2017 Property Council of New Zealand Award for Best Commercial Office and a 2017 NZIA Canterbury Architecture Award in the Commercial category.
