KFI delivered the full façade package for the Plant & Food Research Building, a purpose-built facility supporting scientific innovation, sustainability, and modernised service integration.
The façade system features KFI’s 200mm unitised curtain wall, providing a clean, high-performance glazed envelope that maximises natural light in laboratory and office spaces. This is complemented by the KFI 50mm commercial door suite and COLT louvre systems to facilitate natural ventilation and solar control.
A key design element is the bespoke perforated aluminium "saddlebag"—a screened enclosure for external plant equipment and services. Engineered for both ventilation and concealment, the saddlebag integrates seamlessly with the façade, contributing to the building’s refined architectural expression. The complete envelope was designed for durability, thermal performance, and compliance with stringent scientific facility standards.
