KFI was engaged to design, manufacture, and install over 8,000 m² of façade for the new MIT Manukau Campus, located directly above the Manukau Railway Station. The project comprises three interconnected structures joined by a central atrium, requiring carefully engineered seismic solutions.
The façade integrates multiple systems including KFI 135mm and 180mm curtain wall, 40mm strip windows, 3mm solid aluminium cladding, point-fixed glazed canopies, and external shading fins. These systems were designed to address complex geometry, movement tolerances, and functional performance across both educational and public transport environments. The result is a striking and resilient façade that enhances the campus identity while supporting its mixed-use infrastructure.
