KFI was engaged by Hawkins Construction, alongside Warren and Mahoney, RLB, and Aurecon, to deliver the complete façade for KEB 1—a five-level commercial building for Ngāi Tahu Property.

The building features a unitised curtain wall system installed traditionally on three elevations, with a frameless, cantilevered sawtooth arrangement on the east façade. Custom white glazed extruded ceramic tiles were integrated into the unitised panels to complement the overall modulation. High-performance triple-coated low-E double glazing was used throughout, providing excellent thermal and solar control. The façade was engineered to meet high seismic and energy performance standards, aligning with the project’s goals for durability and sustainability.
